Opis
DANIEL BINDSCHEDLER (Switzerland/USA) began his studies with his father, a baroque cellist, at an early age. He later continued his studies with Lois Errante, Ken Kuo, and Gerral Heiser. He has performed with the Darien String Quartet, Norwalk Youth Symphony, David Cieri, Erik Ewers, and Robin Bacior, at venues ranging from Glasslands to Tanglewood to Carnegie Hall. He holds a BA in English from Drew University, where he wrote a music column for the University newspaper. He currently lives in Brooklyn, NY, where he continues to perform and collaborate in a large variety of contexts and styles.
KYLE FARRELL (USA) studied percussion at Youngstown University (Ohio) and music therapy at the New School in New York City. In Ohio in 2006, he co-founded the improvising trio Giants Of Gender, with whom he toured America and released G.O.G. on Edgetone Records (San Francisco). Since moving to Brooklyn in 2009, he has performed with the Wrickety Wrists (which he also co-founded and composed for), and in many improvisational contexts. In addition to his activities as a virtuosic percussionist and composer, he is a music therapist and avid cyclist.
ASA HORVITZ (USA) was exposed to some really strange music by his experimental musician father but began guitar studies at age 6 after hearing Nirvana’s Nevermind. He later studied composition at Wesleyan University with Anthony Braxton, Jane Alden, and Alvin Lucier, where he co-founded No Face Theater (after studies with Cláudia Tatinge Nascimento) and Duchampion, and graduated with High Honors. During this time he also received scholarships to study traditional vocal music and experimental theater in Italy and Poland. From 2010-2011 he toured and recorded extensively with Duchampion while living in Brooklyn, NY. In 2011 he received a Fulbright grant to travel to Poland, study, compose, and perform.
„what makes their music unusual is its obscure alchemy…. anything but lazy…[Horvitz has] the insight of a visionary and Point Reyes has no propensity to emulate other artists.” – BreakThruRadio.com
„A great band from Brooklyn… that deserves some attention.” – Bolachas Gratis
